A visualization that shows what your colony looks like and what would be needed for life on your planet, a journal that describes life on your planet, and a travel advertisement that will promote travel to your planet.
There will be multiple parts to this assignment: two worksheets, a drawing, an essay, a journal entry, and a travel promotion. They will be due at different times during the next few weeks. You will be given specific instructions for each assignment at a later date.
Assignment #1: Research your planet
Your first step is to research your planet. Some things you will need to know are: temperature, gravity, surface, amount of light, length of day, length of year, and atmosphere. You will also need to think about what resources are available on your planet and what resources you will need to provide for the colonists. As you are learning about your planet, fill out the form labeled Assignment #1.
You may collaborate with other people when researching your planet, but everyone must do their own project. You will need to use both books and websites as resources. Here are some useful links to get you started:
You will need as much good information about your planet as you can find. The list below is only meant to give you ideas to get stared. For advanced credit you will need much more information.
You can hand write or type up the information. It does not need to be written in paragraph form but should also not be one word answers. We will be checking for in-depth research at the completion of part one, including your bibliography.
* If you choose to handwrite part 1 make sure that it is neat, that you highlight the topic titles listed below and that you skip lines between each topic.
